Whether the subject is a tree or someone's face or hands, Robert Kwon's art strives to capture something beautiful in the way of its colors. Color is what brings a work to life more than any other single variable in terms of how powerful a painting can ultimately be. For Robert, even brightness and contrast values are subordinate, and serve mostly as a catalyst or catapult for the potential impact that color can have in a painting. Color can make an average composition look good, a good composition look excellent, and an excellent composition look completely breathtaking. One has to apply the right color, in the right amount, in the right place, and in the right way.
Robert is a Vancouver artist, mostly self taught, and took up the brush in the fall of 2000 and began painting professionally as an artist in March of 2006. His work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States, and Internationally.
The Plaza Galleries is proud to present the fine art of Robert Kwon.
