Born in Norfolk, England in 1950, Diana May Nobbs is a self taught artist whose creativity was recognized even at the youngest of ages. Now a Canadian citizen, Diana is a full time artist whose works are housed in public and private collections worldwide. Some of her most notable collectors include the Royal Ontario Museum and H.R.H. Princess Anne.
Diana's extensive traveling has greatly influenced much of her work. In the early 1970's Diana spent four months traveling in Brazil and painting the landscapes that she found there. By 1976 she found herself based in New Orleans and it was during this period that she fell in love with the Mayan Ruins of Mexico. This was a period that held a great charm for her and greatly influenced all of her work of that time.
From the Greek Island of Hydra, to the Himalayan foothills of India, to our own beautiful town of Whistler; Diana found herself awestruck with the beauty of the world around her. She recorded this beauty in her paintings and sculptures. Her passion for her subjects is evident.
The Plaza Galleries is proud to present the fine art of Diana May Nobbs.
